The bane of my life...
I've got no artwork to show you but I have been doing some research, which I hate. I found the website of the GCA (greeting card association UK). On there site there is information for both publishers, writers and most importantly artist.
Over the past few days I've been going through the site and doing what it suggests. So what does it suggest?
Find a number of publishers that you are interested in and make sure they take on freelance artists. I have found that the best way to do this is not to google them. What is easier is to go to a gift/card shop and pick out a number of card you like and jot there details down from the back of the card (I've found 6 that I like this way). Also why'll you are there take a look at how the cards are set out and look at the difference between the best sellers and the general masses of cards.
Once you have this information go to there sites and look for there submission details most require .jpeg, but some want .pdf's and of course you can send by post.

Lets try and work...
over the past couple of months I've been getting interested in Greetings Cards, and as a result I have started a quest to get a least one greeting card published by this time next year.
About a week ago I sent my first card idea off to a loverly company called UKgreetings which is owned by USgreetings... and I think if the country you hail from can be abbreviated then the chances are that you'll buy your cards from these guys. Anyway I'm getting off point so a new paragraph is called fall.
So the design under this post was was the one I sent and err... it was rejected :'(
But thats not the point, the point is that I've started sending out designs. hopefully my self imposed challenge will be successful and if you are interested in greetings cards like me then hopefully this will become a good resource, and if not at least you can laugh at my screw ups.
